The Certificate in Missional Ecclesiology is an award at level 4 in the National Qualification Framework validated by Ascentis, a National Awarding Body approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and governed by a partnership comprising of universities such as the universities of Lancaster, Liverpool and Central Lancashire. Lancaster University employs Ascentis staff. School of the Word is registered as a recognised Ascentis Centre.
The validation means that students studying on School of the Word can be sure that:

The Certificate awards 120 level 4 credit points. The external moderator from Ascentis stated the following after conducting his inspection: “… the course staff are capable and well-qualified; the course is well-organised and competently assessed; the report ‘Class of 2010 Moderation’ which also details assessment and standardisation is excellent and an example of good practice”.
